Medusian is a symphonic death metal band based in Gothenburg, Sweden, founded in 2024. Originally formed by vocalist and guitarist Mitchell Colbert, drummer Isak Asplund and bassist Richard Svärd completed the lineup that would go on to release their debut EP “Library” in January of 2025.
With the release of two music videos and 3 lyric videos, the debut EP serves as an introduction to the musical and artistic experimentation that Medusian strives for with everything they do.

Following its release, the band introduced the members Rasmus Edström as a second guitarist, and Daniel Österberg on bass, following Richard’s departure.

The lyrical themes of Medusian encompass dark themes in fantasy settings, using story-driven lyrics to convey emotional concepts of loss, failure, fears, self acceptance and growth. Its lyrics are layered on top of technical musicianship with massively layered and orchestrated symphonic elements to escalate the music of Medusian to the grandiosity of its stories.
